Our two-day journey mapping facilitation bootcamp dives deep into the details of facilitation techniques to help you run successful journey mapping sessions.

This workshop delivers:

  • The big picture of journey mapping: What it is, how it helps you overcome organizational silos, and how an integrated view of your customer experience drives business performance.
  • Advice on how to plan a customer workshop with guidance on essential practices such as creating personas, choosing journeys to map, recruiting participants, and managing logistics.
  • Plenty of training exercises that enable you to learn and practice your facilitation skills, with group discussion and feedback throughout.
  • Networking opportunities with other attendees to share ideas and best practices.

Topics We’ll Cover: How to foster empathy and drive action with your mapping efforts, how to leverage customer workshops as a tool for organizational change, and why the devil is in the details for planning and hosting a successful workshop

Skills You’ll Practice: Encouraging workshop participants to open up through brainstorming and storytelling, listening in active and open ways, and uncovering and exploring key customer wants and needs — even when participants struggle to voice them

Agenda: Day 1

Day 1 will help you build a solid understanding of the journey mapping methodology and how you can apply it to your specific business challenges. We intersperse our presentations with facilitated discussions, ample time to ask questions, and time to process what you’ve learned. The day will be structured around our proven step-by-step methodology for creating maps and using them to drive action.

Day 2 will focus on our framework for facilitating a research workshop with customers — and will consist of more hands-on exercises to help you learn by doing. You’ll learn best practices, try out facilitation techniques, and swap war stories with other facilitators-in-training.

A Facilitation Framework. Our three-part framework for facilitating a journey mapping workshop is applicable to any customer research setting.

Tips & Tricks. You’ll learn the secrets we’ve picked up throughout our experience facilitating both business-to-consumer and business-to-business customer workshops.

Ready-to-Use Skills. You’ll facilitate the exercises that we frequently use in journey mapping workshops, empowering you with the confidence to jumpstart journey mapping research within your organization.

Bootcamp Materials. You’ll receive digital copies of our slides; a printed workbook with examples and exercises to take back to your team; and a facilitation starter kit with templates, checklists, and a sample of our favorite workshop supplies.
